This item is stylish and functional, but I was disappointed to see that it is constructed of bonded leather. This fact is stamped on the back of the pad, but not included in the product description. I gave the item 3/5 stars instead of 5/5 based on the product description and retail price.

After a month of daily use there are some signs of wear (lose stitch ends, adhesive showing/releasing on seams, original "leather smell" replaced by the "cheap smell" of the material), though the pad is still functional and attractive. Assuming realigned expectations and a discounted price, you will be happy with this item. If you want a writing pad for daily use or for frequent travel, I suggest purchasing an item with higher quality leather and stitching.

I use this portfolio for law school so that I don't have to carry around several binders. It's perfect because I can easily fit both my iPad and it's separate keyboard easily in addition to the writing pad and so on. The design is classic and I love the fact that there's a lot of pockets and compartments in which to store various supplies. My only slight negative is that I wish the interior pockets weren't made of fabric, but of leather, like I have seen in other designs. But, for this price, it's unbeatable.

This is a great addition to my other portfolios I use in business and personally use. My other portfolios are smaller in size so the addition of the letter size paper portfolio is what i was looking for. Many pockets, enough writing space, can keep business cards, credit cards, ID, and a calculator which is all I needed this item for. Love it.
