Just so you know if you are ordering the "Chapstick Red" it's not RED red, it's a brownish red. Also the Black is Wilson Leather and the Chapstick Red is Pelle Studio and not of the same quality as the Black Wilson Leather.

I wanted to replace my cheap plastic checkbook cover with one made of leather. This fit the bill. The leather is soft and is standard checkbook size, fits my top tear style checks and the record book. The color was described as red, but it is a nice sable brown.

The checkbook cover I bought was too big and bulky. The leather itself was not too thick, but the whole thing seemed to swallow the checks and register, and there was not a "crease" where it folded so it does not fold evenly. I suppose you could try to train it to fold down the middle, but that doesn't fix the size problem. I would send it back but it's not worth the hassle.
