I have worn a Wilson leather jacket for the last 20 years. When it was time to get another, I looked for the same product, but it doesn't seem to be made anymore. The closest thing to that jacket seems to be the hipster, but that wasn't available in brown. So I decided to get this one. I never removed the lining in my old jacket, so that wasn't an issue for me.

I do have some concern that the open bottom may not be as warm in wintery winds as the old jacket. I also have some reservations about the zipper -- with my old jacket, the leather overlapped, placing the zipper below a layer of leather to protect from the wind. I'll see how this jacket performs in the dead of next winter. Those concerns are why I withheld one star from this jacket.

On the plus side, Wilson uses top-grade leather that is thick but supple. The panels of the jacket are each made from a single piece of this fine leather, and the seams are made to last. The zipper is heavy-duty and built to last. While no-one has ever accused me of being a clothes horse, the jacket looks and feels high-quality. The good leather plus thinsulate lining does an excellent job of keeping me warm in the coldest days, and the leather keeps me dry in the most inclement weather.

Overall the jacket is well crafted and stylish. My one disappointment is in the sizing. I am between a L and XL, so I ordered an XL figuring that would give me some extra room to wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. The jacket is snug with just a tee shirt on, so the sizing is definitely on the smaller side in comparison to other jackets.

I purchased the jacket for my husband for Christmas and the left sleeve was shorter than the right sleeve. OMG it was so bad and I was so embarrassed. Now I have to pay to return it. I never would have thought Wilsons Leathers would have let such a defected jacket leave their warehouse. Unfortunately I can not recommend this jacket or Wilsons Leather.

I tried this jacket on in the store & the leather is EXCELLENT QUALITY but WAY TOO THICK FOR TEMPS OVER 40 DEGREES. I still plan to buy this jacket because the Cognac color is impossible to find elsewhere, but I'll have to get the quilted Thinsulate liner removed by a tailor. Even without the liner, temps would STILL have to be under 40 degrees to wear. That's just how thick the leather is...

I have been wearing different styles of leathers through my teens to now and this was a very classic jacket, looks good not too trendy, casual or stylish dress. I reaaly like the lining sewed in not a zipper lining.

This is a gift for my husband for Christmas. It arrived quickly and I was in awe of the beautiful color. He is going to love it!!

The arms are very slim cut so if you work out dont buy this jacket. the color is not conac it is more dark rust....Arms are very long I am a 34 length had to have it altered.....
